Explain the nature of the affiliate program to your friends well. The advantage of the social networking advertising is that the members can get into a sort of discussion before signing up for the program.

Facebook is doing the exact same thing Google Adwords has been doing for years. They're selling ads via their self service platform. The big different is facebook can get you far more targetted users then Adwords. I think Adwords knows that Facebook is a big threat and if they don't start treating their advertisers better, they're going to be in trouble.

It is not about getting traffic it is all about building traffic by thoroughly interacting with the members well in advance before advertising your business.
