image link vs text link to my site.
hi all
the clients of my new site will be encouraged to link back to my site from theirs. I understand that the more sites that put links to yours, the better your chances of being picked up a search engine. Im wondering if there is any difference between a text link or an image link (banner or logo) from a search engine point of view.
Any useful links on search engine optimization would help too.

Search engine robots and spiders prefer to follow text links, so if you use images in your navigation bar, be sure to also include text links. The same is true of links within script. Blue, underlined words are the first to be recognized as links. They offer the quickest download time. The text can be keywords. Screen readers, used by handicapped people, pick them out as links much better than a graphic based link.
