Default Why does google rank previously visited pages higher?

I thought maybe my rankings had gone up, but when I completely erased my browsing history it dissapeared. Does google actually rank visited pages higher? I'm dissapointed because for a brief moment I thought my rankings had surged aha.

This is because of the fact that a previously visited page would have gained some kind of popularity. It is given preference to other pages.
