    Opensource software are the biggest freewares. linux, php, apache, mysql all are free and they work great. linux is virus free and it is free. php is so much in use yet it is free. Lets put down all the great opensource software here. i want to know all good opensource tools and learn them.

    there is nothing like good or bad opensource tools. all tools are helpful in some way. however one problem with opensource tools is that some tools may not be carefully designed and may be in beta release, which will not give you all functionality you expected.

    Mozilla Firefox (Web Browsing)
    Miro (Video Player)
    Pidgin (Instant Messaging)
    GIMP (Graphics/Photo Editing)
    File Zilla (FTP/SFTP)
