Can we expect uptime in free hosting?

I do not think we can expect 100% uptime in free hosting. Even in the paid hosting 100% uptime may not be possible always and the site is bound to be down for at least 1 hour in a month!

yeah 100% is mostly impossible, but you can use these words -> bound to.
a good hosting provider will always take care to make their customer happy and will minimize the downtime.

So customers should be ready for a breakdown of at least one hour in a month which makes it 12 hours in a year.

I think there is no such thing. Or maybe it could only happen in a perfect world -- sadly we are not yet into that lol. As a recipient of a free service, we can only suggest and not really demand for the best service there is. This is a win-win kind of relation so we have to be also respectful of the service provider. Beggars can't be choosy and demanding and may I add, should not be expecting.

Even paid hosting services are hardly maintaining 100% up time. The thing is not providing 100% up time, but speed of fixing the errors. Some of free hosting companies are fixing the errors soon.
