Is Free Hosting Service Profitable?

Although these free hosting sites are offering 'free" service, if you have to look deeper you will realize that nothing is really free. I mean, there must be something they are asking from their members. In fact, they could be plastering ads on your site so that they also made some money. Somehow, somewhere they have to monetize their service to stay financially sound.

Do you think these free sites are good business to go into?

I only think free hosting should be used in testing and only if you are a beginner. Otherwise it can totally destroy your business web site. Free web hosts give lower priority to issues and maintain bad infrastructure.
