Default Are people still for free hosting?

I could see that the popularity of free hosting has come down a bit thanks to the number of blogs being used these days by the service of blogger.com, wordpress and joomla.

Yes people like blogging/ WordPress a lot... In free hosting you have limited Privileges...
I'm using free hosting, didn't saw any down server problem... But the only thing is that limited disk space and scripting is disabled partially...

Actually some blogger prefer Free web hosting. I actually recommend a paid hosting for a website or you can mainly do the hosting if you have the necessary things needed.

Though I find lots of newbie blogger use free web hostings.

People are tending to move away from free services because they are finding that they cannot profit as much. Paying even a tiny amount for hosting can benefit you in the long run, with a unique domain name you can make much more revenue from.

Maybe people are becoming fed up of excessive ads.

Another thing bad for a free web hosting. I actually prefer choosing a free web hosting that really has a less ads on it.

I use free web hosting since then. But of course we know that in free hosting we don't have control of the advertisements that the web hosting sites post in our website.

I don't agree with your assessment. Free hosting service remains to be thriving despite of other free platforms like blogger.com and wordpress.com. I think what shrinks the free hosting sites is the fact that if you have a domain and could already invest some dollars there are now sites offering cheap hosting service. We all know that free has many limitations -- heck even blogger and wordpress (the .com and not the .org).

It's so much easier getting high ranking on Google for a free blog on blogger than a free site on a free hosting company. Easier to tweak SEO factors too. I like blogger for their ease of publishing. Though I don't like the limitations for expansion. You can get many plug ins for WordPress not available with blogger. Very unfortunate! Though it is possible to manually tweak the code of your blogger template, if you know what you are doing. Some of my favorite tweaks include the slideshow element on blogger. As for what you were saying about free hosting, I think you have less options with a free hosting site, though that's not true of all sites. You have to check around.
