Opt-in is the better method IMHO. Because in this case you are n a closer contact with your potential customers and so you are less likely to be considered as spam.

What do you prefer -Opt-in or opt-out?
I prefer opt-in method of email marketing. I would write to them prior to sending information about my products. In rare case I use the opt-out method. How about you?
