OSCommerce is the best shopping cart software as far as i am concerned. It can do everything and more a paid software does and there is a huge community from where you can get support.

If you want to manage large mall, you can use Magento. If you just manage a small business,you can just use a OSC or a wordpress. Both OK. You can have a look at the iphone case shop. It is built with wordpress.

I liked osCommerce for a long time. It has a rich feature set. The problem that I see - they haven't kept up with the times as much.

My recommendation: Magento. It just takes eCommerce to a whole new level. Check it out, I do not think you will be disappointed. Oh yea - it is open source also.
