Can a normal user can purchase a .tv extension domain name?

Hi, I have a question related to booking of domain name ?
So is .tv extension provided by domain registrar, is it limited to only people who owns a tv channel or network?

i think yes. in real market you just have to pay the price and everything is available at your feet, as least a domain name . i think you will agree with me, no? let me know

yes, you can buy .tv domain without any problem.

they wouldnt sell alot if it was only for tv channels

Anyone can buy a .tv domain name.

In fact, if it's of any interest to you, some registrars have cut the registration price down to near .com prices. The renewal costs are still the same as they used to be though, so buy a couple years worth upfront if you want to take more advantage of the discount.

I think TLD .tv can be purchased by anyone willing to pay the asking price from regular registrars. For the information of everybody, .tv is not actually referring to television but to a place called Tuvalu. Here is a quote:

" .tv is the Internet country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for the island nation of Tuvalu. Except for reserved names like .com.tv, .net.tv, .org.tv and others, any person in the world can register a .tv domain for a fee. The Tuvalu government receives a quarterly payment of US$1,000,000 for use of the top-level domain."
