Thread: How to diffrent between an Straight and Cross over Lan Cable?

Try checking that the colours of the wires which are coonectiong to the end of the clip are same or different. if they are same its straight . Unless, its cross over.

eyeris is right, check the two ends of your cable. If both ends have same color designation then its straight LAN cable. If not probably its crossover LAN cable.

For crossover: Color of pin1 must be same to pin 3 of other end of the cable, and vice versa. Color of pin 2 must be same to pin 6 of other end of the cable, and vice versa. Pins 4, 5, 7, 8 of both ends should have same colors.
