my website is not working, it is giving this error

Code:

Server Error in '/' Application.
A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server)

can anyone tell me what is the problem

hi saad_sinpk, i think you have a problem in ur coding. can u tell me which scripting language u are using, if it is asp.net then you should check your code once again.

if it is asp.net then i have found the error for u, the error is with the sql server. you haven't linked your sql database correctly. which hosting package are you using?

this is all available with hosting click here for go to hosting site i don't have any database, where i upload my database, i don't know, first my site was not working so my friend say me to install mvc, which i have done now what is the problem

saad_sinpk first you have to create a database from you control panel of the hosting site that you have been provided, (u have, right?) after that you have to add database url details in ur asp page.

i don't have data base i only have websites, i think there is some file missing, this website is made by my friend so he forgot to give me the website database, i will talk to him and solve the problem, can u tell me for this website i need to make special db or every site have same db ?

if the website has already been developed, i think the database used is sql server ...which must be provided along with ur hosting plan. first check ur hosting control panel. or ask for database details. ms sql database is required, i think

my friend make this website, so he give me all the files but did not give me any sql db, so what i do now ? i have to make new db and i don't have sql support in my hosting i think so
